June 25, 2026, Brampton, ON — No Frills^®, one of Canada’s leading hard-discount grocery retailers, is opening in Winnipeg, bringing fresh groceries, everyday value and a community-first approach to the McPhillips area.

Adelina’s No Frills^®, owned and operated by Winnipeg-born Adelina Marrello, will offer customers a full range of grocery essentials, including fresh produce, bakery, meat and grocery items. The store will employ approximately 70 team members and is built around a simple promise: quality food, great prices and a welcoming shopping experience for local families.

For Marrello, opening Adelina’s No Frills^® is more than a business milestone. It is a return to her roots and a chance to invest directly in the city that shaped her.

“Winnipeg is home. I was born and raised here, and opening this store in my own community is incredibly meaningful,” said Adelina Marrello, Store Owner. “Thousands of hours went into planning, building, stocking and preparing the store before we opened our doors. Every aisle, every department and every detail was set up with our customers in mind.”

Adelina has been with Loblaw since 2005, beginning her career as a Front Store Manager with Shoppers Drug Mart. In fall 2024, she joined the No Frills^® Franchisee program and was awarded the McPhillips location as its new owner.

The new store is designed to serve customers looking for dependable grocery options at affordable prices, without compromising on freshness. From produce and bakery to meat, pantry staples and home goods, Adelina’s No Frills^® offers a convenient, destination for everyday shopping.

“At a time when affordability matters to so many households, I’m proud to bring a store to the community that helps customers get the groceries they need at prices that make sense,” added Marrello. “But this store is also about people. It’s about building a strong team, getting to know our customers and finding meaningful ways to give back to the community.”

As part of its commitment to giving back, Adelina’s No Frills^® will celebrate its grand opening with a $1,000 donation to Andrews Street Family Centre, supporting the organization’s work with families and community members in Winnipeg.

Adelina’s No Frills^® in Winnipeg, located at 1375 McPhillips St., will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
