Bringing on-demand groceries to 8 million Canadians
October 23, 2025

In today’s fast-paced world, convenience isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity. Loblaw continues to evolve to help Canadians “Live Life Well”, and one service at the centre of that effort is PC ExpressTM Rapid Delivery. Offered in partnership with DoorDash, Rapid Delivery has become a cornerstone of Loblaw’s digital strategy and a key part of how we make everyday life easier since its launch in 2022.
PC Express Rapid Delivery represents an important investment in adapting to the changing rhythms of Canadian life. “We saw a growing need for immediate access to essentials,” says Vicky Jiang, delivery and fulfillment manager for Rapid Delivery. “Our vision was to build a service that fits into customers’ lives, offering flexibility and peace of mind.”
Starting in four cities in 2022, Rapid Delivery has expanded to 18 regions, now serving more than eight million Canadians. This growth reflects Loblaw’s deep understanding of customer needs and our ability to adapt quickly. “It’s a collaborative achievement,” Vicky explains. “Every order represents the work of teams across technology, operations and retail who are passionate about delivering value and convenience to our customers.”
While delivery in as little as 30 minutes is a defining feature, Rapid Delivery’s value goes further. Customers can shop from more than 7,000 curated products, including everyday groceries, household essentials, seasonal items and local favourites.
“We’re proud to offer a curated and diverse selection,” Vicky notes, “including local exclusives like Kettleman’s Bagels in Toronto or BAK’D Cookies in Vancouver. It’s about celebrating community and ensuring customers can access what they love, at their fingertips.” The assortment is refreshed weekly and features themed collections for occasions like Mother’s Day, Halloween and holidays, keeping the experience relevant and fresh all year.
Rapid Delivery’s success is best seen in the daily lives of customers who rely on it. The service operates 365 days a year (including holidays), with no minimum order and a flat rate fee of $4.57. “I forget stuff and can’t really leave if I have people over,” shares Hanna Lu, growth marketing specialist.
In some regions, it’s open until 3:00 AM, offering peace of mind when a trip to the store is not possible. For UX researcher Simon Lafosse, it meant satisfying a late night craving. “I was craving popcorn, so I ordered some at 10:30 PM,” Simon says. “The order arrived before my movie ended. It was quick, easy and exactly what I needed.” For millions of Canadians, that kind of convenience helps cover life’s unexpected moments.
