Tyler Amaral's story at Loblaw is more than just a career trajectory; it's a testament to dedication, adaptability, and the power of building strong relationships. Starting as a service clerk at Zehrs Cambridge at the young age of 15, Tyler has spent the last 19 years carving a unique path, transforming from a high school seafood manager to his current role as Sr. Director Strategic Initiatives & Continuous Improvement for No Frills.

His early years were marked by a relentless work ethic. Juggling high school and managing the seafood department, Tyler quickly learned the ropes, demonstrating a commitment that set the stage for his future success. "Dedication is key," Tyler emphasizes. "If you commit to learning and growing, the opportunities at Loblaw are endless."

Tyler's career path took a few turns within Loblaw, allowing him to explore different roles and gain a broader understanding of the business. This internal exploration ultimately led him to roles with increasing responsibility, from PC Express Specialist to District Manager in Training, each step building upon his experience and preparing him for his current leadership position.

One of Tyler's defining strengths is his ability to build and nurture strong teams. He emphasizes the importance of identifying high-potential individuals and providing them with opportunities to grow. During his career Tyler has mentored many colleagues including Priscilla, a former part-time clerk who he eventually brought onto his team as a permanent CES. "Building a strong team is essential," Tyler explains. "It's about recognizing potential and providing the support and opportunities for colleagues to excel."

Beyond his team, Tyler places a high value on building relationships with store owners and customers. He credits his time at the store level for instilling in him the importance of connecting with people. He recalls being on the mezzanine at South Cambridge and "yelling down at a customer that was on the sales floor" to ensure their needs were met. This dedication to customer satisfaction remains a core value in his approach to strategy and continuous improvement.

Tyler's story serves as an inspiration to colleagues across Loblaw. His journey demonstrates that with hard work, a commitment to growth, and a focus on building strong relationships, anything is possible. From stocking shelves to shaping strategy, Tyler's path is a powerful example of the opportunities available within Loblaw for those who are willing to seize them.
