More Than a Donation: Our 2025 Feed More FamiliesTM Champions

January 13, 2026

A group of grocery store employees stand inside a store holding a Feed More Families Champions cheque.

What makes a store a true pillar in the community? It’s more than just the products on the shelves. It’s the people inside and the connections they build with their neighbours. It’s about being a reliable partner, a helping hand, and a place people can count on. This year, we are proud to celebrate the stores that live this spirit every day with the Feed More FamiliesTM Champions Awards.

This award isn’t just about the amount of food our stores have donated or the amount of money they’ve raised. It’s about celebrating how these stores show up for the people they serve.

"This award is truly special because it’s not just about the numbers," says Emma Race, VP of Sustainability and Community Investment. "It’s about celebrating the stores that consistently show up for their communities with heart. They are building real relationships and making a tangible difference every single day."

So, what does it take to be a champion? It starts with passion. The selection committee looks for stores with high store-level engagement where teams are genuinely excited about giving back. This includes everything from actively participating in food recovery programs, like Flashfood and Second Harvest, to volunteering their time at local events.

It also requires deep community engagement. This year’s Champions are true local partners. They sponsor school events and local fairs, support nearby Indigenous communities, and actively strengthen their relationships with local food banks, creating a welcoming and safe environment for everyone.

We are honoured to recognize the stores whose teams embody this spirit. Please join us in congratulating the 2025 Feed More Families Champions:

"The stories from the winning stores are incredibly inspiring," Emma adds. "They remind us that every location, big or small, has the power to be a force for good. We hope their example encourages others to deepen their own involvement with the Feed More Families mission."

Each winning store receives a $5,000 donation for their matched food charity partner, allowing them to extend their positive impact even further.

The journey to becoming a community champion is open to every store. It begins with a simple question: how can we help? By getting involved in national campaigns, strengthening local partnerships, and encouraging participation from across the store, any team can create a lasting legacy of positive change.

A huge thank you to this year’s winners and to all the teams across the country who work tirelessly to feed more families and strengthen communities.
