New store brings affordable groceries, local and multicultural flavours to the community

June 12, 2025, Brampton, ON – No Frills^®, Canada’s leading hard-discount grocery retailer, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Ken’s No Frills^® in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Ken’s No Frills^® will be the first in Summerside and second No Frills^® in Prince Edward Island. The store will open its doors on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., located at 454 Granville Street, C1N 4K7. The opening of this new store underscores No Frills^® commitment to accessibility to low prices on groceries and everyday essentials, and the creation of about 60 new jobs in the community.

"We're building a store that reflects the community, offering great value and a friendly atmosphere. I started my journey as a store clerk and worked my way through nearly every department, so opening these doors today feels incredibly special. I’m thrilled to serve the people of Summerside and can’t wait to make this store a local favourite for years to come.”

Ken’s No Frills^® will feature a wide selection of fresh produce, meat & seafood, bakery items, and everyday essentials celebrating both local and multicultural flavours. The store includes a dedicated multicultural section showcasing South Asian, Caribbean, and East Asian products with popular brands like Suraj^® and T&T. Local PEI and Atlantic Canada products are proudly featured throughout the store, alongside a great selection of organic items.

Reflecting its commitment to the local community, Ken's No Frills^® will donate $2,000 to Community Connections Inc. The store also partners with Flashfood, a program that reduces food waste while offering customers significant savings on fresh produce and grocery items.

Ken’s No Frills^®, located at 454 Granville Street, Summerside, Prince Edward Island, is open Monday – Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
