As Canada Day approaches, our PC Chefs are excited to share their top picks for making this holiday a culinary celebration! Get ready to elevate your barbecues, picnics, and gatherings with these delicious and versatile selections from the PC® Summer Insiders ReportTM, all prepared in Canada and crafted with passion and innovation in our very own PC Test Kitchen where the magic happens. Chef Gilean Watts' top pick is the PC Halifax-inspired Donair Burgers. "I’m a proud East Coaster, and I’m so excited to see our classic dish – donair – getting the spotlight it deserves," Gilean shares. She adds, "Now with the PC Halifax-inspired Donair Burgers, I can have a little piece of the East Coast tucked away in my freezer for when I need a taste of home." Inspired by her mother-in-law’s recipe, the donair sauce delivers that authentic flavour. For an authentic East Coast experience, top your donair burgers with tomato and sliced sweet onion – no lettuce!
Executive Chef Allison Jones recommends the PC Toasted Chili Mayo and PC Spicy Pickle Mayo. "Not only are they delicious, but they’re also incredibly versatile," she notes. Try using them as a flavourful condiment on burgers or sandwiches, stir them into dressings for potato, pasta, or egg salads, or serve as a tasty dip for fries, pizza crusts, and more!
Chef Christine Song is all about the PC Black Label Mango Ice Cream. "Of the three new PC Black Label ice creams, Mango is my favourite!" Christine exclaims. "The mango flavour is super rich and refreshing, making it a wonderful treat on a hot summer day." She shares, "Ice cream is my favourite treat, year round".
Chef Charmaine Baan's top pick is the Nimbu Pani Lemonade. Nimbu Pani, which means lemon-lime water in Hindi, is a refreshing and traditional beverage, and Charmaine raves about this version. "It is refreshing and not too sweet, perfect beverage for a hot summer day," Charmaine says. "I am a juice and lemonade fan, and this one does not disappoint. It's also a great base for summer mocktails or cocktails; my go-to is to add gin!"
