Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM surpasses goal to contribute $50 million by 2026

Third annual Impact Report showcases efforts made in 2025 to close health gap for women in Canada

February 19, 2026, Toronto, ON - Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM has released its third annual Impact Report, detailing the key achievements from 2025 that are making a tangible difference in women's health across Canada. In 2022, the Foundation set an ambitious goal: to contribute $50 million by 2026 towards women’s health initiatives that are making care more equitable and accessible. The Foundation is proud to announce that this milestone has been surpassed ahead of schedule, thanks to the transformative programs and partnerships outlined in the 2025 Impact Report, including:

  • Shopper’s Drug Mart® Run for Women: The largest event series in Canada dedicated to women’s mental health, it includes springtime 5k and 10k run/walks in 18 different communities across Canada. Since its inception in 2013, the initiative has raised more than $27 million for local mental health charities that are improving access to mental health care and support for Canadian women. In 2025, the Run for Women raised over $3 million in donations with more than 29,000 runners and walkers participating.

  • Supporting children and families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Peoples (MMIWG2S+):  Shoppers Foundation made a $10 million donation to the Government of Manitoba’s Healing and Empowerment Fund, an endowment held by The Winnipeg Foundation in support of MMIWG2S+ people. It backs activities that extend tangible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed support to children, families and communities of MMIWG2S+. Delivered over five years, this $10 million donation is the largest single donation in Shoppers Foundation’s history.

  • Menstrual Equity: Period inequity both silences and sidelines - and the Foundation is taking action to fix that. Through organizations like Moon Time Connections and programs like Pad it Forward, the Foundation is creating a more equitable future for people who menstruate throughout Canada. Through distribution, education, and stigma reduction, partnerships like these increase access to vital menstrual products.

  • Advancing the Standard of Care for Menopause: The Foundation has helped to significantly advance women's health research through its partnership with Women’s Health Collective Canada (WHCC), the largest non-government funder in this field, supporting the development of an enhanced, evidence-based standard of care for menopause, and critical research into the impact of menopause on cardiovascular, metabolic, and bone health. As a founding partner, the Foundation has contributed over $3 million since 2022, including a recent $1 million commitment.

  • Community Grants: The Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM Community Grants program supports organizations addressing women’s health equity through awareness initiatives and improved access to care. In 2025, $1.75 million was donated to 27 community-led initiatives through Community Grants.

  • Beauty Mingles: Local fundraising events hosted at most Shoppers Drug Mart® and Pharmaprix® locations in the spring, fall, and ahead of the winter holiday season. These engaging in-store beauty events offer everything from skin consultations to makeovers and serve as vital fundraisers for local women’s health programs. Beauty Mingles raised over $5.5 million in 2025.

  • Giving Shelter: Each fall, the Giving Shelter campaign brings together Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix® stores across the country to raise funds and awareness for local women’s shelters and programs. Through this initiative, local organizations receive critical support, with 100% of donations remaining in the communities where they are raised. In 2025, fundraising efforts supported over 300 local women’s shelters and partner organizations.

“Surpassing our $50 million commitment ahead of schedule shows that collective action can help make women’s health a priority in Canada. The achievements highlighted in this year’s Impact Report reflect the dedication of our partners, supporters, and communities, and reaffirms our mission to close the gap in women’s health.” - Paulette Minard, Director, Community Investment, Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM

“Shoppers Foundation has believed in our work from the beginning, and they’ve helped shape a movement. With their renewed commitment, we’re taking meaningful steps toward a new standard of care for menopause in Canada - something long overdue. This is more than generosity, it’s leadership. Together, we’re reaching more women, funding more research, and making the case for system-wide change.” - Amy Flood, Executive Director, Women’s Health Collective Canada

“Every one of us has a role to play in building a better future for Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit peoples. The significant commitment extended by Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM is an example of how corporations and their charitable efforts can contribute to ending violence, racism and discrimination against Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse people and action reconciliation with real, tangible support.” - Nahanni Fontaine, Minister responsible for Women and Gender Equity, Manitoba Government
