Approximately every six days, a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.*¹

Violence and abuse aren’t always visible. They often lie in the things we cannot see. They discriminate against no one and do not come with an instruction manual to navigate each situation.

With more than 2 in 5 women experiencing some form of intimate partner violence in their lifetime*², many in Canada are suffering. That's where Shoppers Foundation for Women's HealthTM steps in. Through the annual Giving Shelter campaign, Shoppers Drug Mart® and Phamaprix® stores come together raising awareness and funds for local women’s shelters and programs across Canada, helping those experiencing violence and abuse access the care and resources they need to feel healthy and safe.

This year’s campaign runs until October 9, giving customers the opportunity to round up their total during checkout in-store. All donations raised will support more than 300 local women’s shelters and programs.

Our latest Perspectives film(Open in a new tab) features FearIsNotLove – one of the Foundation’s community partners located in Calgary, Alberta. Through funds raised by the Giving Shelter campaign, FearIsNotLove supports individuals and families affected by intimate partner violence with care, resources and safer spaces when they need them most.
