New Maxi store on Montréal’s Plaza Saint-Hubert officially opens its doors
Montreal, QC – June 18, 2026 – It’s official: the new Maxi store on Plaza Saint-Hubert has opened its doors. Designed to meet the needs of local families, this store offers high-quality food at affordable prices in an all-new environment. The opening of this new 8000-square-foot store represents a multi-million-dollar investment in the neighbourhood and will create around 40 jobs.
“In today’s climate, where everyone is looking to cut down on their grocery expenses, Maxi stands out as the smart choice. This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to making quality products accessible at affordable prices to an ever-growing number of Quebecers who trust Maxi to provide their food,” said Patrick Blanchette, Senior Vice-President, Maxi.
To mark the opening and demonstrate his commitment to actively supporting the local community, store manager Victor Aguilar chose to make a $2500 donation to Espace Jeunesse En Marche, an organization dedicated to creating a supportive environment for young people from the diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood and its surrounding areas.
“My team and I look forward to welcoming customers and helping them discover the freshness and quality of their favourite products at the best price. We are also committed to playing an active role in the community, supporting local organizations and making a positive impact on the lives of our customers,” said Victor Aguilar, Maxi Store Manager.
Customers can expect a user-friendly shopping experience focused on low prices, fresh products and excellent accessibility. They’ll find a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, assorted cuts of meat and a broad range of locally sourced products available across all departments. Customers can also take advantage of the Flashfood app, which offers additional savings on select products. With its “Unbeatable. Period.” pricing policy and PC Optimum rewards program, Maxi is dedicated to delivering exceptional every day value. By listening to the needs of its customers, the company continuously adapts its offerings to meet consumer expectations.
