For many of us, grocery shopping is a familiar routine. We grab a cart, make our way through the aisles and check things off our list without giving it much thought. For others, it takes a little more planning, patience and support.
Imagine trying to navigate a busy store with a loved one who has mobility challenges. Or struggling to communicate with someone when you can't hear what they're saying. Even bright lights, background noise and crowded aisles can make an everyday errand feel overwhelming.
While these things may go unnoticed, they can have a real impact on how others experience their time in in-store. And sometimes, a little understanding can make all the difference.
That's where thoughtful solutions like Caroline's Cart come in. Designed to help make shopping more accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, it's one way we're helping customers navigate stores with greater ease.
Across our business, we're working to create more accessible and inclusive spaces by recognizing that everyone's needs are different. Whether it's making shopping easier for customers with mobility challenges or finding ways to better support those with hearing loss, we're taking steps to help more people feel comfortable, supported and welcome.
We've seen that through the experiences of team members like Paul, who has helped support people who are hard of hearing through hearing loop technology, and Jaylynn, whose story reminds us that meaningful connections can go beyond words.
Because inclusion isn't just about what we offer – it's about how people feel when they walk through the door.
Here's how(Open in a new tab) store manager Greg Cogswell and his team at the Real Atlantic Superstore in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia are making a meaningful difference for families in the community with Caroline's Cart.
