September starts here

Class is in session... almost.
Before lunches are packed, new shoes make their debut and the first bell rings, September starts showing up in homes across the country – and for every household, the season feels a bit different.
For some, it’s their child’s very first day of school with a backpack that’s almost as big as they are. For others, it’s that first time away from home on-campus experience, a caregiver managing a full family calendar, or a working adult trying to reset after summer holidays.
Regardless of where Canadians find themselves, there is a lot to remember and real pressure – that’s where we come in.
Across our banners and brands, back-to-school begins long before customers see the displays in store. Category teams look at what customers need for the season, merchandising thinks about how those needs come together and marketing connects the dots in a way that feels useful and timely. Supply chain keeps those products moving and frontline store teams bring it all to life through aisles and sections that are designed to be easy to shop.
It’s all hands on deck to make the experience feel seamless – because for customers, the season does not arrive in a neat, organized list. It’s happening between work shifts, sports practices, daycare pickups and last-minute requests for the first science project of the year.
Right now, value is top of mind for many households, especially when families are spending all at once. Canadians are looking for ways to stretch their budgets without compromising on the things that matter. They want meals that work for everyone at the table, snacks that last, supplies that are easy to find, support when routines shift and convenient options that help take one more thing off the list.
Whether it’s Hit of the Month lunchbox staples, the latest fresh finds from Joe Fresh, advice from a local pharmacist, a teenage beauty haul paid for strictly with PC OptimumTM points or a PC ExpressTM delivery that helps save time, our role is the same: to help customers feel prepared, supported and ready for the new start that comes next.
That is how we show up for Canadians. Not by treating September like a transaction, but by recognizing it as a transition and understanding that behind every cart is a routine, budget and moment that matters.
